I mentioned that I would be blogging a bit more about topics relating to dogs, so I wanted to start out with a pretty basic post: seven things your dog needs! By “things” I don’t mean toys or specific products, but basic needs that are often overlooked.
Other titles that I considered for this post include: “The struggle was real” and “I suck at life.” Anywaaaays, I need to update everyone on something that has changed…
Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I really appreciate it! I’d like to say that things are back to “normal” around here, but four victims are still in the hospital. Ugh. Please continue to keep this situation in your prayers.
So, guess who got to spend the weekend with my family… Moses!
He’s my brother’s golden retriever… except he’s white. He’s also awesome. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, but Moses was re-homed. He used to be a therapy dog for a child with cystic fibrosis, and the parents ended up having another child and decided to re-home Moses to my brother! He is such a sweet dog and I love him so, so much.
Hello and Happy Sunday! I’m glad everyone enjoyed the picture of Jax (my brother’s new puppy) in my last post.
Since Jax was such a hit, I want to share a video of him hanging out with Lola and Brandy.
Brandy and Lola love Jax! They all have a grand ol’ time romping around the house!
Since I’m in the pet/video mood, here’s a short clip from a snowy trail walk Lola and I went on this week.
The high temperature for the day was 13°F, and when I took my hand out of my mitten to film the video it stung from the cold air. That’s probably why the video is so short!!
I haven’t been on YouTube in ages! I was looking through my videos, and found this gem from two years ago. Turn your volume down before you play it because Hannah screams at the beginning, haha!
So, I’ll admit it. Only two pictures in this post feature turkey. I’m pretty much just sharing some random pictures from my life lately. Here we go!
I bought a $5 milk frother off of Amazon and I love it. I may or may not have frothed a full glass of soy milk just for fun the day it came in the mail… I like froth, okay?! (After I typed that, I started thinking about how froth is such a weird word).
So, I kind of lived up to my turkey themed post. I drew a turkey, posted a picture of a turkey sandwich, and now I’m off to run at my school’s annual turkey trot 5k race!
What are you up to this weekend?
After the race, I’ll probably do homework. On Sunday, I’m going shopping with my church for Shiloh!
Thank you for all of the sweet comments on my last post. A few people said they liked watching Jimmy’s hair change over the years–haha! ME TOO. I like it short!
In August, Leigha tagged me in the “current” survey floating around the blog world. I finally got around to doing it!
Current book – The Holy Bible, specifically the book of Jonah. Jimmy and I pick books of the Bible and read a chapter each day, and then discuss them via email or text messaging. My favorite verse in Jonah is the eighth verse in the second chapter.
Current guilty pleasure – Blogging and taking Lola on long walks. What are these guilty pleasures? Because I don’t have much time to do either lately! Both are super relaxing to me, so I make time.
Current nail color – None! I just paint a clear coat on my nails every Sunday morning before I go to church. I’ve found that if I paint my nails, the polish usually chips off within a day or two because I swim a lot. With that said, I do enjoy getting a manicure or pedicure every now and then. That happens about once or twice a year, though!
Current drink – Coffee and ginger ale. I am loving ginger ale lately.
Current food – Homemade red velvet cupcakes with buttercream frosting and red sanding sugar. I made a small batch (in the microwave!!) to celebrate five years with Jimmy. The recipe can be found here–it’s super quick and easy.
Current television show – Please don’t cringe when you read this, but I don’t really watch TV. Like ever. Yikes.
Current wish list – I with I could be done with this semester, and I wish my mom would feel better–she has a migraine right now. Poor thing. Materially, I don’t really need/want anything… maybe a new pair of mittens for running in the cold!
Current needs – Nothing. I have everything I could ever want or need. I know and love God, my family and friends are happy and healthy, I’m receiving an education, I have a vehicle, a job, a roof over my head, food to eat, and clean water to drink. I couldn’t ask for more!
Current indulgence – Taking “selfies” and using the flash on my camera. I know using the flash on a camera is practically a photography sin. Oh well!
Current blessing – My sister. We hang out every night while she does homework, and just end up laughing hysterically at random things. The next day, we text each other about whatever we talked about. I got some strange looks at the gym recently because I was cracking up at a text Hannah sent that said “Dem Chex Mix paws though.” (<— I told her I think Lola’s paws smell like Chex Mix. I don’t know why I smelled Lola’s paws?!)
Current excitement - I wrote two more articles for the Nittany Pride!
1. PSNK to Hold 34th Annual 5k Turkey Trot and 1-Mile Fun Walk or Run
2. ‘Fifty Shades’ of a Bad Relationship
Okay, your turn… tell me something current in your life!
I’m loving the fact that the first issue of the Nittany Pride is on campus! My managing editor and I worked so hard on this. Late nights, early mornings, visiting the print shop–you get the point. To God be the glory–couldn’t have done it without Him! I’m so excited to publish two more issues this semester. Woot woot!
What are you loving lately?
